Skinny--Ever

"Everyone outside was fat.
I didn't mean it to be rude, I really didn't.  It was just the first thing that popped into my head.
As I peered out the window from my lonesome spot in the backseat of my parents' Honda, I couldn't help but notice that there wasn't a single semi-skinny out on the street.  And there were lots of people, might I tell you.  People were shopping, bags tucked under their thick arms.  I tried not to stare at their rotund bellies slipping over their pants excessively, but it was hard.  I mean, there were overweight people back in California, sure, but there were skinny people too (including myself).
'Isn't this town nice?'
Oh no.  We were so totally screwed.
My mom used that line every single time she was attempting to look on the bright side of a horrible situation.  Exhibit A: Last summer, on a road trip, we got stuck on a farm miles away from a store or any people besides the crazy farmer inside.  Her words?  'Isn't this picnic table nice?'
